Here’s what you’ll discover:
In a study done by the USA Today News organization, they found that in a typical organization only 43% of the employees are truly engaged with the company they work for. In sharp contrast, organizations that win the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige Award typically have 90% or more of their employees fully engaged and productive. These organizations and their employees are always looking ahead, always pursuing a higher level of performance and use of their potential.
During this engaging and though provoking session, Bob Stearns will share his experiences in leading a company to win the Baldrige Award. Baldrige winners outperformed the S&P 500 by 4 to 1 in eight of ten years studied.
He will facilitate discussions with participants to compare their own organizations to five key areas that are the heart and soul of Baldrige winners:
· Hardwire your Goals
· Unleash Customer Loyalty
· Cultivate Agility
· Apply the 85% Rule (Improve work processes)
· Inspire Ownership Accountability and Results
Winning the Baldrige was a significant triumph in Bob’s career, unfortunately five years later tragedy struck. Bob’s son Eric, while in his junior year at Penn State University was in a study abroad program in Athens, Greece. Eric was walking on the sidewalk with a classmate when a driver lost control of his car and hit him. Eric died from his injuries. The following evening Bob delivered a message of hope and inspiration to Eric’s classmates. Bob has now shared this message of hope and the pursuit of personal potential with thousands of people. Bob wrote a book about the three lessons he received from this experience, and will inspire you with them today:
· Take on Tough Challenges and Never Quit!
· Focus on what you Do Have, not on what you Don’t Have.
· Change the Stars
